Join us for the next session of our free workshop series, led by teaching artist Jas Pinturas.
For the last three sessions, Jas will lead a workshop series that invites participants to explore the art of storytelling through the creation of multimedia collages. Using a variety of materials—such as mixed paper, paints, markers, glitter, glue, and more—participants will craft unique collages that visually depict a story they wish to share.
In these sessions, we will explore collage techniques inspired by artists like Eric Carle, Matisse, and others.
Starting with a paper of their choice, we’ll use a mix of colored paper, stencils, and magazines to build a more complex image and portray what the participant wishes to share—whether it’s a memory, a life event, or an imaginary story. Participants are encouraged to elaborate on their artwork with additional materials such as glitter and markers.
This workshop is free to attend, and all materials are provided.
All participants under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult unless the child has written consent by their legal guardian and notarized to travel home alone.

En las últimas tres sesiones, Jas dirigirá una serie de talleres que invitan a los participantes a explorar el arte de contar historias a través de la creación de collages multimedia. Usando una variedad de materiales—como papeles diversos, pinturas, marcadores, purpurina, pegamento y más—los participantes crearán collages únicos que representen visualmente una historia que deseen compartir.
Durante estas sesiones, exploraremos técnicas de collage inspiradas en artistas como Eric Carle, Matisse y otros. Comenzando con un papel a su elección, utilizaremos una mezcla de papeles de colores, plantillas y revistas para construir una imagen más compleja y representar lo que el participante quiera expresar—ya sea un recuerdo, un evento de vida o una historia imaginaria. Los participantes también podrán enriquecer sus obras con materiales adicionales como purpurina y marcadores.
Este taller es completamente gratuito e incluye todos los materiales.
Todos los participantes menores de 10 años deben estar acompañados por un adulto, a menos que el niño cuente con el consentimiento por escrito de su tutor legal, debidamente notariado, para regresar solo a casa.
