Please join us for our 2nd NARS Artist Salon featuring Mikhail Iliatov & Rachel Kahn
Mikhail starts off the evening presenting through power point and will also bring some work into the Parlor Room for viewing and discussion. He is offering the following as an introduction to his work:
"After reaching Manila, first sign of the orient, Stobel understood how wandering had only served to bring him back to places he already knew." - Raymond Queneau, Destiny
Mikhail’s work is an attempt to model parts of an idealized, and illusory world where he would like to live.
Rachel shall present a selection of work through power point in the Parlor Room and will continue, opening her studio (302), for viewing and discussion afterwards.
Rachel is motivated by a desire to attend to surfaces and the boundaries between things. She is interested in the experience of consciousness and the possibility of seeing oneself seeing. In her current work she has been generating forms in watercolor and collage and am interested in translation and transformation of images between media.
NARS entrance on 35th Street will remain open until 7:15. Doorways between studio floors will remain open through duration of the session for easy access by NARS artists.
