Season I, 2025

Romilly’s process is craft-based, led by the materials she works with and the places she inhabits and researches. Romilly is interested in the anima loci, or the spirit of a place, so her work is often site-sensitive and incorporates materials foraged from specific locations.  As an animist, she is curious about the stories materials can tell and creates a mythology of materials through sculpture and installation.

Romilly Rinck is a British-American textile artist. She received her BA from University College London and MFA from The New School. Romilly was shortlisted for the Dorothy Waxman International Textile Prize in 2023 and was a recent artist in residence on the Sakata Orimono Apprenticeship in Japan.  Her work has been featured in Arte Morbida, the Surface Design Association, and New York Textile Month.  She is now part-time faculty at Parsons School of Design.
