2024 Season III

Tina Lam (Canada)

Artist Statement/ Biography

Since youth, Tina Lam has been fascinated and perplexed by the mysteries of the natural world. Venturing into unfamiliar natural environments, she carries industrial materials which she reunites with natural entities. During these excursions, she ponders on the interplay between the Self (the individual, human and human-made) and the Other (beyond the individual and human), musing on notions of transformation, interaction, cosmology, mysticism and metamorphosis. Her land-art interventions, multimedia installations, and performances are meditations on humanity’s entanglement with the unknown and the mystical.
