Animation Workshop

Please join us for the series of free workshops led by teaching artist Dave Ercolini at the Sunset Park Library. The Animation Workshop invites children ages 8-13 from the Sunset Park community and beyond to actively engage with the teaching artist to build a story through art and technology using critical thinking, curiosity, and creative problem-solving skills.
During each workshop session, students will be introduced to the history of animation and 2D animation techniques. This introductory workshop will encourage them to develop visual communication skills and compositional arrangement, through analog and digital technology. This workshop is structured on weekly exercises that will expand students’ cognitive skills through group, partnered, and independent activities.
This workshop series is free to attend, and all materials are provided by NARS Foundation in partnership with the Sunset Park Library. Children participating should be at least 8 y/o.

Taller de animación

Acompáñenos en esta serie de talleres gratuitos dirigidos por el artista Dave Ercolini en la biblioteca de Sunset Park. El Taller de Animación invita a los niños de 8 a 13 años de la comunidad de Sunset Park y más allá a participar activamente con el artista docente para construir una historia a través del arte y la tecnología utilizando el pensamiento crítico, la curiosidad y las habilidades creativas de resolución de problemas.
Durante cada sesión del taller, se introducirá a los alumnos en la historia de la animación y en las técnicas de animación 2D. Este taller introductorio les animará a desarrollar habilidades de comunicación visual y disposición compositiva, a través de la tecnología analógica y digital. Este taller está estructurado en ejercicios semanales que ampliarán las habilidades cognitivas de los estudiantes a través de actividades en grupo, en pareja e independientes.
La asistencia a esta serie de talleres es gratuita y todos los materiales son proporcionados por la Fundación NARS en colaboración con la Biblioteca de Sunset Park. Los niños que participen deben tener al menos 8 años.
