My World: It’s Me and My Family
Free Family Workshop

Saturday, March 19, 2-4pm

The NARS Foundation is excited to resume in person Saturday Family Workshops starting on March 19, 2022. The monthly workshops will take place at P.S. 1 the Bergen School of Excellence, in Sunset Park, a space kindly provided by the Center for Family Life.

The series of workshops presented by NARS in 2022 will be led by teaching artist Sophia Chizuco, and will be part of a yearlong project titled My World. During this series of workshops, families will create different elements in each session that when put together, will function as small installations or sets portraying each participant's “world”. 

The first workshop will explore character creation, with families working together to create a character out of crafting supplies such as cardboard, buttons, and fabric. Kids and their families will be encouraged to think about the ways they see themselves and the people that make up their world. All materials will be provided.

Families are encouraged to attend all workshops, however, they will also be able to attend single sessions. At the end of the series, there will be a pop up exhibition hosted at the NARS Galleries in Sunset Park, where all participants will be able to present their creations.

Limited to 10 families. Children participating should be at least 4 y/o. All attendees 11 y/o and older will need to present proof of full vaccination.
