Mapmaking Workshop

Saturday, February 23rd, 2-4 Pm

NARS is pleased to have artist Katya Khan, to lead the Mapmaking Workshop on Saturday, February 23rd, 2-4 pm. The workshop will take place at NARS Foundation 201 46th St, 4th floor, Brooklyn. 

In this workshop, children and families will have the opportunity to share insights about the neighborhoods they live in. Using colored pencils, markers, construction paper, and stickers participants will create pop-up hand-made maps of the special places they favor the most. The map-making activity will be prompted with spatial games and questions, such as “What trees grow on your street?” and “How many steps it takes to get to the next deli?” The workshop is suitable for children of all ages.
