The NARS Foundation invites you down to Sunset Park to experience artists in their natural habitat: the studio. The Fall 2014 NARS Open Studios offers an opportunity to foster engagement between artist and community. Artists open their doors to expose an otherwise private workspace, gaining feedback and exposure for their work. Neighbors and visitors, in turn, get access to the creative process happening right next door and a glimpse into spaces that they might not otherwise see.
Participating Artists:
Niamul Bari, Jennifer Grimyser, Katya Grokhovsky, Ronald Hall, Noël St. John Harnden, Chaegang Jeon, Rachel Klinghoffer, Sandra Lapage, Minjung Lee, Antonia Dias Leite, Cristian I. Mejia, Tracy Miller, Amanda Millet-Sorsa, Kristine Moran, Serry Park, Carolina Paz, Carlos Pileggi, Soyeon Shin, Mark John Smith, Kate Stone, Karolina Sulich, Masaki Takizawa, Lindsay Hanna Taylor, Claudia Weber, Matt Whitman, and Halley Zien.
We are also pleased to announce that our neighbors, chashama at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, will be hosting Open Studios as well, with a free water taxi running between Wall Street, DUMBO, and Sunset Park. For more information, click here. NARS will operate a free shuttle bus between the two studios running every fifteen minutes starting at 3pm.
