2022 Season I

Artist Statement/ Biography

Liva Isakson Lundin's artistic practice includes sculpture and drawing. Her sculptures or installations are often site specific, as they are created or finalized in the exhibition space. The room itself is in many cases a bearing element in the work, and in a way the sculptures become temporary shapes, or states of mind. She is using the physical qualities of industrial materials, like metal, rubber and glass, to experiment with ways of holding up a structure, or holding on to a movement. The materials transform, deform and stabilize each other in intimate constructions of emotion and control. This fleeting moment of reliance is also captured in her drawings.
