Artist Statement/ Biography

Carlos Franco's work is an exercise in cultural cross-pollination: art as a license with which to work across disciplines, through histories, and in-between mediums, in order to create connections that reveal the conditions through which we negotiate our relationships and the narratives that perpetuate them.

Carlos Franco holds degrees in Philosophy and Visual Art (University of Puerto Rico), and a Master in New Genres (San Francisco Art Institute). He has presented works/projects at the Lab, SOMARTs, the Thing Quarterly (San Francisco), Lvl3 Gallery (Chicago), Nikolaj Kunsthal (Copenhagen), Quinta del Sordo (Madrid), Universidad de Medellin (Medellín), among other trackable geolocations.
