Season IV 2024

Artist Statement/ Biography

Côté’s recent practice draws from the play of color in daily life. Through her paintings and ceramics, she aims to reveal the subtle encounter of natural and built environments, honing in on incidental moments, capturing their essence. Her gaze lingers on often-overlooked details of the urban landscape—entrance halls, frontages and narrow gardens—inviting us to slow down and appreciate. Alternating between detailed work and blurred gestures, Côté investigates the traces and triumphs of nature, as it relates to human presence. More than a simple aesthetic experience, Côté’s work reflects a deeper communion with the artist and their impact on the community. It serves as a unique call to preserve both our environmental and cultural heritage.
