NARS Foundation is excited to present Jiwon Rhie’s solo exhibition, Instant Forest.
Rhie’s Instant Forest, features a series of sculptures and installations made from shipping materials and images of customs forms sent from Korea by Rhie's mother. Rhie has been collecting these materials for four years. The title of the exhibition comes from a custom's google translate fail, when a shipping package of instant soup was delivered in her mother’s handwriting labeled "Instant Forest." Merging the reproduced image of the labels with everyday objects, Rhie explores ways to translate her narrative into visual language.
