Statement:
I am currently working on the Breast Portrait Project, a series of torso portraits of women in oil, pastel and charcoal. This is a community-building feminist portrait project that I have been engaged in, in addition to my other work, for over ten years; I recently received a grant from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council, to do this work here in Sunset Park. The Sunset Park Breast Portrait Project willc ulminate in a solo exhibition at Tabla Rasa gallery.
